Position:     Ph.D. or M.D. Principal, Trans* and Gender Non-Conforming Health

Type:         Project-based Contract OR Full-Time Employee  

Term:         May 2022 - September 2023 
                with potential for 1 year extension 

Location:    Hybrid, California resident preferred, Negotiable

Description and Objective: 


The principal will support Tingen Industries in the design, deployment and direction of a first-in-the-world study about understanding and meeting the healthcare needs of trans and gender non-conforming people in the United States.

​

Responsibilities & Deliverables: 

 

  • The principal will work with Tingen Industries conducting research on transgender and gender non-conforming health needs, culminating in a set of interventions and best practices to be promulgated to relevant practitioner bodies

  • Specific responsibilities and deliverables are confidential. Tingen Industries will disclose specifics with interested and qualified candidates after execution of an NDA.

Highly Qualified Candidates Have: 

​​

  • Experience supervising and conducting field research with small teams

  • Experience working with trans* and/or gender non-conforming people 

  • The ability to collect, analyze, synthesize, and theorize from multiple sources of data

  • A love of moving from theory, to data collection, to application, to iteration

  • An active sense of data-informed curiosity without preconditions

​

All Candidates Should Have: 

​

  • A Ph.D. in any field of psychology OR an M.D.

  • M.D. Candidates should be in compliance with the California Medical Practices Act, and present proof of their licensure to practice medicine

  • Commitment to high quality work and reporting, no matter the findings 

  • The ability to communicate challenges and roadblocks in a timely manner

  • The ability to be proactively engaged in applied research from ideation to reporting
